Are men under attack? Let’s face it, everything seems to be coming after their testosterone. Recent studies indicate that the testosterone level of the average male today is 25% less than it was in 1992 (Comparing males of the same ages). Meanwhile, the average male estrogen level has increased an alarming 40%, and sperm counts are down 40% during the same period.
What this means is that the average male in today’s stressed-out chemical-laden world is significantly less of a man (and has “feminized” a bit more with higher estrogen levels) than their counterparts of the same age just a couple decades ago. What’s going on?
We talked about food in the previous post. The conventional food supply, loaded with pesticides and injected with hormones is stealing testosterone, pumping men full of estrogen. Have you ever heard of atrazine? This herbicide is the most used in crops like corn and sugar cane and in frog studies turned male frogs into females. The meat is pumped with even more hormones, and we add up all the household products that have estrogenic effects, you may be swimming in the sea of estrogen.
Water is another problem. Our water is routinely fortified with fluoride, an industrial waste product that supposedly makes our teeth stronger and less prone to cavities. While topical fluoride will protect teeth at risk, drinking fluoride is like swallowing sunscreen to protect our body from getting a burn. But what’s worse, fluoride exposure leads to low sperm counts, lower fertility rates and yes, lower testosterone.
But it’s weed that seems to be one of the worst offenders when it comes to estrogenic enhancements. I’m sure you noticed that all weed ads pump the fact that weed makes you mellow. Sure, because it’s feminizing men! It robs people of motivation and drive. It blasts your estrogen into the stratosphere. So, if you are a guy who defaults to smoking weed in your spare time, or all the time, you are being turned into a beta male. Even the science says so.
In a study published in the American Journal of Epidemiology, a total 1,215 men were instructed to provide semen and blood samples following medical examinations. A total 45% of the subjects claimed to have used marijuana within the past three months. The subjects that claimed to smoke marijuana more than once per week has 29% lower sperm counts. Weed use was found to have negative effects on sperm count and sperm concentration in all the subjects.
Another concern I will mention when it comes to that chronic weed use is testicular cancer. Studies show that men with long-term cannabis use are 36% more likely to develop testicular germ cell tumors than those men who did not use the drug. With marijuana use steadily increasing, doubling, and tripling in some age groups, this is especially concerning.
